Do you have a favorite smoothie that you always make? For me it’s a smoothie with apple, banana, avocado, matcha powder and as topping blueberries or raspberries. This one is deliciously creamy and sweet and the children also love it. But what if you would start the day with some more spice?

With a smoothie you don’t think about spicy, but adding some more spicy ingredients to your food is good for your health. Spicy food enhances your immune system, making you less vulnerable to colds or flu. In addition, it speeds up your metabolism, it’s good for your heart and strengthens your blood vessels.

This smoothie recipe is very spicy and full of healthy nutrients. It contains red pepper that contains more vitamin C than an orange and bites bacteria. Ginger helps to detoxify your body and is filled with minerals and vitamins.

Ingredients.

  • 1 banana
  • half red pepper
  • 1 cup of buttermilk (or almond milk, makes it softer)
  • piece of ginger (2cm)
  • frozen pieces of mango (250 grams)

Cut the red pepper into pieces, including seeds. Cut the ginger into small pieces or slices and mix all the ingredients in the blender until it’s smooth.

The smoothie is cold by the frozen mango and creamy by the banana and buttermilk. XO Frieda.
