Sushi is in my opinion the most photographed food on Instagram (guilty) and it looks always so tasty. I love Sushi, but I’ve never actually made it myself because I’ve the feeling that I’ll be in the kitchen for a long time cause my family is absolutely crazy about sushi (except hubby) and a few sushi rolls will not be enough.
Luckily there’s a much easier and faster version to still put Sushi on the table, the Sushi Bowl. You put all the ingredients of your favorite sushi roll in a bowl and ready! Nothing could be easier and the taste is the same.
Recipe Sushi Bowl.
Make this Sushi Bowl completely your own, I personally love sashimi of salmon or tuna and avocado, but you can also make it for instance with crab sticks and egg.
What do you need.
- Sushi rice (or Pandan Rice)
- Salmon or Tuna (fresh or eat the same day from the package)
- Nori Sheets (seaweed)
- Seaweed salad
- Cucumber
- Spring onion
- Avocado
- Sesame seeds
- Rice vinegar
Preparation.
- Cook the sushi rice according to the package.
- While cooking the rice you cut all the ingredients. Cut the salmon or tuna into thin slices, the cucumber into cubes or strips and the spring onion and avocado into chunks.
- Put the rice in a bowl and mix in a dash of rice vinegar (rice vinegar gives sushi that typical flavor and ensures that the rice sticks even better).
- Let the rice cool down a bit.
- Sprinkle some sesame seeds over the rice.
- Then place the sliced salmon or tuna and vegetables over the rice.
- Cut or shed some nori sheets into pieces and put it on top (you can even mix a few pieces of nori through the rice, they will be a bit softer).
- As a topping sprinkle some extra sesame seeds over everything.
- Finish with a generous scoop of seaweed salad.
Serve the Sushi Bowl with soy sauce and wasabi.
Enjoy your meal!
