Last Wednesday I was invited by Luuk from Luukskitchen.com to participate in a Turkish cooking workshop with a number of other (food) bloggers. This workshop was given by dear Nuriye from nurculinair.nl, a very sweet, warm and especially cozy woman who told us passionately about Turkish cuisine and taught us how to make the most delicious dishes.
Luuk and Nuriye organized this Turkish cooking workshop together for the second time, held in the beautiful building of Lab-44 te Zaandam.
Nur Culinair
We started this great afternoon with bubbles. Nuriye had already prepared some delicious Turkish treats for us. During the cooking we were able to enjoy delicious Turkish bread with Cacık (the Turkish version of the well-known Greek tzatziki), Kizartma (various fried vegetables, vegan) and chicken wings in a Turkish marinade.
Together with Claudia from beafitmom.nl I made the Midye dolma dish. Mussels filled with risotto rice, currants and pine nuts. This was also my favorite dish that afternoon, what a wonderful combination. Mussels but very different from what you are used to and very easy to make. My children love mussels and I’m sure it will make them happy for dinner too. But it’s also a dish that’s ideal as a snack at parties.
Cooking together
How nice is it to cook together! Even better is it to eat everything together that everyone has made. We ended with traditional Turkish coffee and tea with sweet baklava.
Would you also like to attend a cooking workshop with a number of friends, family or colleagues? Or do you have a party at home and do you want to surprise your guests with delicious dishes? Then take a look at nurculinair.nl for more information.
