Petra Jeanty van der Spek and her company Prestige Cosmetics Benelux distribute a number of very nice niche brands.

As a beauty blogger I get a lot of products sent and sometimes there is a product that I am a fan of immediately and then purchase it myself. The Skin Fitness Peeling from the beautiful brand Perris Swiss Laboratory is such a product. You can use this peeling every day, it strengthens your skin, has an anti-aging effect and gives a radiant and even complexion. Also suitable for sensitive skin.

Also, I was always curious about the perfumes of Perris Monte Carlo, just because of the beautiful and chic-looking bottles you get all greedy. I was allowed to choose a scent, I choose the scent Arancia Di Sicilia from the Italy Collection, this is such a wonderful scent that I will also try some other scents from this brand from Monaco.

Prestige Cosmetics Benelux

Petra Jeanty van der Spek worked since 2014 as an account manager for the subsidiary company IPD of the Perris Group from Monaco. Her task was to put three niche brands in the Benelux on the map and she did that with great pleasure and success. Before that she was co-owner of a reintegration company and then had her own clothing store, but the beauty world always attract “I have always had a thing for the beauty industry. I have worked for Christian Dior and La Prairie and in a Chanel Salon, I have always had an affinity with it and am also a beautician. So it was a logical step for me to start working in this industry again.” Unable to get her dream of starting her own business again out of her head, she took the plunge in a conversation with Gian Luca Perris almost a year ago. “I said, I’ve been doing this for six years, still love the brands, but it’s time to look further. I would like to become a distributor myself, would that be an option?”

Long story short, in September 2020 her own company, Prestige Cosmetics Benelux, was established with the permission and cooperation of the Perris Group. She is the passionate distributor of the Swiss skincare brand Perris Swiss Laboratory, the beautiful fragrances of Perris Monte Carlo and of the historic French perfume house Houbigant Paris. Owning her own company also gives her the freedom to add other brands to her range. Petra came into contact with the Italian trendy self tan and sun scare brand That’So and, as an agent, she expanded her portfolio with this brand. “Beautiful vegan and skin-friendly (also dermatologically tested) products, which are very pleasant and widely accessible and also look very hip”.

Perris Group

The Perris Group based in Monaco was founded in 1981 by Michele Perris from his passion for skin care and fragrances. It is a family business that operates in more than 37 countries worldwide and also does business with 60 countries worldwide.

Perris Monte Carlo Fragrances

This niche perfume brand has been around since 2011 and now has four different collections: Gold, Grasse, Italy and Black and includes 21 different scents. The most precious raw materials are used for each fragrance. The perfumes contain high perfume concentrations and are also easy to layer. Nice to know is that the gold-colored logo consists of four 4 P’s, one P for each member of the family. One of those scions, Gian Luca Perris (Petra’s former manager in Monaco), is the creative director and, among other things, responsible for developing the Perris Monte Carlo perfume collection. He created Perris Monte Carlo to go back to the heart of the perfume industry. The focus on the perfume scents themselves rather than on the marketing of the brand name. The passion for bringing back the true art of perfumery is the brainchild of this beautiful label. His mission is to intertwine the best raw materials from around the world with tradition and modern innovation to create the unique fragrances of Perris Monte Carlo. And the ‘fairy tale’ started with the beautiful scents from the Gold Collection.

Gold collection

The four fragrances from the Gold collection all have gold packaging. They were specially developed at the request of a sheikh from Saudi Arabia. He asked his friend Gian Luca Perris to develop a number of fragrances with ingredients so characteristic of his country: musk, amber, patchouli and oud. Musk Extreme, Essence de Patchouli, Ambre Gris and Bois d’Oud.

Grasse collection

The Grasse collection is characterized by the simplicity and purity of ingredients, such as lavender, jasmine, may rose and mimosa. The collection is a tribute to the regions of Grasse. The French perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, known for perfumes such as First van Cleef & Arpels and Terre d’Hermès van Hermès, developed this collection together with Gian Luca. Jasmin de Pays, Rose de Mai, Mimosa Tanneron and Lavande Romaine.

Italy collection

Sfeer Arancia di Sicilia

This collection (fresh and fruity) also consists of four different perfumes, is entirely devoted to citrus and has been developed as a tribute to the so-called ‘citrus family’. The Capua family was the first to extract essential oils from citrus since 1880. The fragrance Arancia di Sicilia, with blood orange as the main ingredient, won the prize for ‘best artistic perfume in the niche segment’ in 2019, by the Accademia del Profumo in Italy. Cedro di Diamante, Mandarino di Sicilia, Bergamotto di Calabria and Arancia di Sicilia.

Black collection

Sfeer Santal du Pacifique

The Black collection consists of nine fragrances. These are named after special places where Gian Luca has been during his travels. The Black Collection contains the most extensive fragrance compositions of all collections. Oud Imperial, Rose de Taif, Patchouli Nosy Be, Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, Absolue d’Osmanthe Santal du Pacifique, Tubéreuse Absolue, Cacao Azteque and the latest fragrance Vanille de Tahiti.

House of Houbigant Paris

The history of this niche perfume brand reads like a fairy tale. At the House of Houbigant, for centuries, their perfumers have made groundbreaking discoveries in the formulation of perfumes that have forever revolutionized the way perfumes are constructed. It is no exaggeration to say that without the House of Houbigant perfumery would not exist.

It all started with a basket of flowers. One day in Paris in 1775, a young man, Jean-Francois Houbigant, hung a hand-painted sign of a basket of flowers above his shop on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. From the beginning, his scents found their way to the royal family and the nobility. Houbigant taught the women at the court of Versailles how to perfume themselves.

When Marie-Antoinette was executed by guillotine in 1793, she carried 3 bottles of Houbigant perfume in her corsage to give her strength. And the scents even traveled in Napoleon’s campaign chest. The late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, was also an absolute fan of Houbigant Paris. Her favorite scent was Quelques Fleurs L’Original, a super feminine and sophisticated perfume, which she wore on her wedding day.

Fascinated by the world of perfumes from an early age, Michele Perris starts working with some of the most prestigious companies in the fragrance and cosmetic industry. In 1973, for example, he meets the last member of the Houbigant family, where he works as a consultant. Many years of collaboration develop a friendship between the two men, so when Michele launches his company in 1981, he also distributes the Houbigant Paris brand. Years later, the owner of Houbigant had to sell the brands for health reasons and since then the Perris family has made it a point of honor to bring the historic brands together again under their own umbrella. Since 2005 they managed to get the name Houbigant for the fragrance and cosmetics market. From that moment on they have put it back on the map with all the respect and prestige that the brand deserves.

Perris Skin Fitness - Peelings

The skincare brand focuses on all skin types and specifically on sensitive, vulnerable skin. The Swiss factory with laboratory (Micro Sphere) co-owned by the Perris Group uses a specific pharmaceutical technology that is used in the manufacture of the high-quality skincare products. All products contain at least 95% natural ingredients and are free of parabens, silicones, mineral oils and synthetic fragrances and dyes. The skin care products are vegan and fall under the Cosmeceuticals and Clean Beauty category. All products give an immediate result. The pearl of Perris Swiss Laboratory is the Skin Fitness peeling, a product for daily use and with a wonderful, soft scent of helio powder. The four types of peels have a lifting, firming, wrinkle-reducing effect and immediately provide radiant skin and a healthy glow.

1. Peeling soft: for all skin types, but especially for thin, dry and/or sensitive skin. This peeling softens, refines and lifts the skin for a fresh, radiant complexion.

2. Peeling medium: for all skin types including sensitive skin. This peeling softens, refines and lifts the skin for a fresh, radiant complexion. The grain of this peeling is coarser than that of the soft peeling, but has the same effect.

3. Lift peeling lightening: for all skin types with hyperpigmentation. This peel helps prevent and correct dark spots for a brighter and more radiant appearance. Also suitable for the hands.

4. Peeling purifying: for combination to oily and sensitive skin. This peeling smoothes the skin structure, reduces sebum production, has an anti-inflammatory and brightening effect and counteracts imperfections.

Use Peeling: Apply a small amount (1 cm) to the wet cleansed skin of your face, neck and possibly décolleté. Massage gently for 1 to 2 minutes and rinse with water. The peel can also be applied around the contoured areas of lips and eyes (soft and medium only) where fine lines and deeper wrinkles occur. Use it once a day for an instantly smoother look, as a regular part of your morning or evening routine.

Petra’s favorites “My favorite skincare product is our star product: the peeling and also the mask serum. From Perris Monte Carlo, Santal du Pacifique is my signature perfume. A bit powdery but also warm and woody with a.o. santal (santal wood) and cedar wood. But the newest fragrance Vanille de Tahiti, a very soft vanilla flower, so not the smell you find in the kitchen, is such a beautiful and delicious scent. From Houbigant it is really Quelques fleurs Jardin Secret, fresh and flowery. And finally from the Private Collection, Mon Boudoir, an oriental fragrance, including amber, jasmine, roses, musk and patchouli. But it doesn’t mean that I find the other perfumes less beautiful or less nice”.

The vegan, skin-friendly and dermatologically tested self tan products from Italian That’So are ideal for providing your face and body with a tanned complexion. The products immediately provide a beautiful colored skin, smell nice and do not stain.

The On-The-Go Dark (Hemp) is a moisturizing, anti-aging and nourishing tanning spray for face and body. A tailor-made formula to give the skin a healthy and natural color without exposure to UV rays. Leaves no stains or an unpleasant odor and can be easily washed out of clothes and hair. The lotion has a double effect:

1. instant brown color thanks to a natural bronze food pigment (easily removed with soap and water). 2. permanent tan that develops between 2 and 3 hours after application (avoid contact with water during this period) and lasts for 2-3 days. Use: apply gradually and evenly at a distance of 30 cm by spraying vertically (in 4 lanes from left to right), rubbing is not necessary.

BRONZER FOOD PIGMENT: an instant dark color thanks to a cosmetic bronzer. A mix of colored pigments that are also used in food and are safe for human skin.

DHA (Dihydroxyacetone): extracted from sugar cane, it guarantees a gradual and long-lasting tan without damaging the skin. The lotion acts on the superficial layer of the epidermis and gives a radiant and intense color that slowly decreases with the natural peeling of the skin without leaving spots. The product is free of erythrulose.

ALOE VERA (Aloe Barbadensis): It has been known since ancient times for its soothing and moisturizing properties. A real treat for the skin, the extract of the aloe plant makes it soft and clear and gives an immediate feeling of freshness.
