Around the beginning of this summer, a new fragrance from Perris Monte Carlo Fragrance was added, Neroli Mediterraneo. Founder of Perris Monte Carlo, Gian Luca Perris, has developed this new perfume as a tribute to Italy and the sun. Back to Calabria, a region in the south of Italy where the delicious citrus scents and bergamot meet you.
I myself was already a bit familiar with the fragrances of Perris, in addition to this delicious Neroli Mediterraneo I also have the perfume Arancia di Sicilia at home.
Neroli Mediterraneo
This new fragrance takes you to Calabria where, due to the favorable climate, about 35,000 hectares are destined for the cultivation of citrus fruits, such as orange, mandarin, lemon and bergamot. It is Perris Monte Carlo’s new fragrance journey dedicated to Neroli, the precious essence obtained by the distillation of the orange blossom. A fragrance that immediately reveals the luscious citrus and floral character of Neroli, hailing from the sunny shores of Calabria and made even more sparkling by a rich blend of citrus fruits: Sicilian bitter orange, Sicilian mandarin and bergamot from Calabria. The freshness reveals in the heart the most versatile nuances from the sunny and floral notes of the Orange Blossom Absolute and Petitgrain, to the sparkling accord composed of Ginger and Timur pepper, to the most velvety and mysterious notes of the Geranium Absolute. The base is soft and elegant thanks to the notes of cedarwood, precious iris and musk. Neroli oil is an essential oil produced from the blossom of the bitter orange tree. The Bigaradia orange tree is widely cultivated in the Mediterranean areas. The blossoms are collected, usually by hand, from late April to early May. Neroli is extracted from the orange blossom by steam distillation and is very precious: 1000 kg of fresh blossoms yield 1.5 kg of essential oil. The Neroli essence selected for this new fragrance comes from Reggio Calabria, a city in the south of Italy, known for its top quality Neroli citrus production. The fragrance is fresh, slightly bitter, floral with aromatic facets.
