As promised, there will be a Florida blog post, but first I wanted to share a very simple dish with you. In America it is very normal that you eat out (almost) every night. Plenty of choice with so many great restaurants. We have tried many new restaurants during our vacation but have also kept it simple for 2 days, Chinese at Panda Express. For those who have been to America, Panda Express is a fast food restaurant where you can eat delicious freshly made Chinese dishes. The Orange Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp are heavenly, but actually everything is tasty! The copycat recipe that I share with you is a simple side dish from Panda Express, Chow Mein.
Panda Express Chow Mein Copycat
This dish is ready very quickly. You only need a few ingredients and it tastes just as delicious as at Panda Express. To make it a complete meal I have added chicken fillet.
Ingredients
- 2 pieces of chicken fillet
- 450 grams of wok noodles
- 200 grams of cabbage
- 3 celery stalks
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons chopped ginger
- 1 cup of soy sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, the 3 crushed garlic cloves, brown sugar and ginger; put this aside.
- Cut the chicken fillet into pieces and fry it together with the onion and the celery.
- Add the cabbage and the noodles.
- I have chosen noodles that you can wok directly from the package, otherwise you will first cook the noodles until done.
- Add the soy sauce mixes to the noodles and stir everything well.
- Serve immediately.
Enjoy your meal!
