Exfoliating your skin is a very important part of your skincare, a good exfoliant will compete with skin aging, damage to the skin by the sun, dull complexion and acne. Exfoliants weeks of the dead skin cells from your skin so that a smooth and healthy skin comes up with refined pores.
Tip: When you exfoliate your skin always use an spf in your moisturizer and/or foundation during daytime, because by the fruit acids in an exfoliant your skin is much more sensitive to the sun.
Paula’s Choice Exfoliant.
I’m a big fan of two exfoliants by the brand Paula’s Choice, one is for daily skincare and the other is a treatment for at least 1x a week. My skin is smooth and beautiful, I sometimes suffered from a pimple here and there and some pigmentation. Now my skin has a fine structure, no pimples and spots, and it looks healthy and shiny.
Exfoliants.
You have exfoliants with AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and exfoliants with BHA (beta hydroxy acid).
An exfoliant with AHA exfoliate the skin surface, it also works moisturizing and stimulates collagen production. AHA is soluble in water and, therefore it’s suitable for dry to normal skin.
An exfoliant with BHA exfoliate the skin surface and pores, it reaches the sebaceous glands and has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect. BHA is soluble in fat and therefore suitable for normal to oily skin.
Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smooting Treatment 5% AHA.
I use exfoliants which both contain AHA fruit acid, because I also want to battle my fine lines. This is the daily exfoliant, Paula’s Choice describes it as a silky lotion but I think it is more a thin cream. It contains 5% glycolic acid (AHA) and 0.5% salicylic acid (one of the BHA’s), these are the ingredients that ensure that fine lines, pigmentation and impurities will reduce. Both fruit acids have a concentration that is effective enough; glycolic acid is only working on your skin if the concentration is 5% or higher, salicylic acid is only working on your skin if the concentration of 0.5 – 2%. This exfoliant is 100% free of fragrances and dyes with an effective and proper pH between 3.5-3.8 so it doesn’t irritate the skin.
Use; in the morning and/or evening apply after cleansing on your face and neck.

Paula’s Choice Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment 10% AHA.
This weekly treatment contains 10% glycolic acid! This lotion provides improved skin texture and tackles very effective lines and imperfections. Salicylic acid is suitable for all skin types but glycolic acid can sometimes irritate some sensitive skin, it’s wise to build up its use. With this weekly treatment that’s not necessary, firstly because you don’t use it every day and secondly because this exfoliant contains soothing ingredients. Also this exfoliant is 100% free of fragrances and dyes and has an effective pH-value between 3.5-3.8.
Use; at least 1x per week in the evening on a clean skin. If your skin reacts well you can possibly use it up to 4x a week.

Conclusion.
It’s great, can’t say otherwise, my skin reacts very well. I’ve normal to combination skin and have had zero irritation with these exfoliants. What I do like about this product is that you can also apply it around your eyes (note; not your eyelids and directly under your bottom lashes), because that’s an important part that you want to treat. Both products have the first few times a tingling effect on the skin, then no more, at least the daily care, with the weekly treatment you always feel a little tingle. I always think that’s a nice feeling, then I just have the idea that it really works.
Don’t use the two exfoliants at once, for example you can use the daily smoothing treatment in the morning and the weekly resurfacing treatment in the evening.
