The first weeks of January I always find a bit dull. December is the month of fun and cosiness and then everything falls silent after New Year’s Day and the “normal” life starts again. My Instagram Stories from early January will therefore mainly be about the weather, and particularly how cold it is! I’m just not so good in cold weather. I wouldn’t mind when the temperature wouldn’t drop below 20 degrees all year!

Sunday, January 1 2017.

New Year’s Day obviously starts with fireworks. We celebrated NYE at my sister in law. I had quite a lot of decorative fireworks bought for the children this year, but they found the firecrackers and other party poppers way more fun! So a learned lesson for me this year.

Making fire is typically a male thing. You would think that every man is deep inside a little pyromaniac;). I must admit that I did found the heat very nice, because man it was cold outside!

On January 1 I started my 30 Day Detox Tea of Teami Blends. You can read my review about this here. I really love this way of detoxing your body, especially the tea you drink in the evening, before bedtime, does a lot for your bowel movements. The tea in the morning will give your energy levels a boost. Both have the taste of green tea and you can optionally sweeten it with honey.

In the recent years it has become a tradition in our family to go out to dinner on New Year’s Day. Then we go to a nice sushi place or a steakhouse.

Thursday, January 5 2017.

My kids were still free from school. Together with a friend and her children we went to a entertainment park, first we had lunch. That’s usually the order we keep, eat first and then do what we came for ha! After lunch the children went to the playground and we were drinking good cups of coffee!

Friday, January 6 2017.

Friday my husband and I decided to go to a Fashion Outlet with the kids. After a bit of shopping we went for lunch and we weren’t the only one, it was crowded! But good food! After lunch we shopped some more, but we had to go back in time because I had an appointment with my nail stylist.

My Christmas nails are going off. Bye Bye glitters, it’s time for something more neutral.

Always hard to choose with so much choice. To make it easier she alway has a few new colors in the range every time I go. Anyway, I know what I want, a pink color with a matte finish. I think matte nails are beautiful, especially black matt I find cool. But as planned I ended up with a beautiful matt pink color. Picture of my nails you can find in my Instagram Feed.

Even though I don’t like the cold and I’m also not fond of snow, I must admit that the view is really nice.

Thursday, January 12 2017.

The only thing I like about the winter is the cosiness inside. Sitting behind my laptop, nice and warm with the fireplace on. Now we have a very nice home office, but when it’s so cold outside I’m happy to sit close to the fireplace.

This little leprechaun thinks the same way. What is it with cats that they always needs to sit on top of something?

You wouldn’t say it but this beauty is the mother of the little black cat. She never sit on your lap but always beside you.

Of course this baby had to be photographed too. What a Animal Farm in our home! Our sweet Bernese Rigo is nine years and is no longer one of the fastest.

This day was literally a day on the couch playing on the Wii and watching movies together. First we wanted to visit the holiday fair for some inspiration to make another trip, but eventually we were to lazy.

The next day it was Martin Luther King Day. On this day I had a special discount for my readers to their possible order with Teami Blends.

Monday, January 16 2017.

Another new week, Monday afternoon it’s time for my favorite salad from Subway. I always order it with extra bacon and extra meat. No tomatoes and no sauce but with olive oil and herbs.

Tuesday, January 17 2017.

I always used a Zoeva make-up bag, but it’s quite large and of course I stuffed it completely full. Every morning the bag went upside down in the sink because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I still have the Zoeva bag, but now I’ve put my every day makeup in this little bag from Clinique. Saves a lot of stress in the morning.
