Lukewarm lemon water in the morning, a good start of the day.

This is so simple and so healthy! For anyone achievable to do every morning. Perhaps some of you already start the day with a glass of water on an empty stomach, very good to detoxify your body, but with a hint of lemon juice it is even better!

I don’t know about you guys, but once I came close to someone who was slightly snotty or had a cold, I could wait almost there or I had that nice cozy virus also picked up. That time is over!!! Touch wood, but it is still good! For several months, I take, on an empty stomach, a glass of lukewarm water with a quarter-squeezed lemon.  I personally don’t find it nasty, if you think this goes too far on an early morning you can also drink it with cold water of course, it’s better to do. Only lemon juice in lukewarm water is better for your digestion and your body doesn’t have to warm up the cold water to your body temperature.

The 10 benefits :

  • Lemons are full of vitamin C and minerals, which gives a huge boost to your immune system.
  • Lemons are packed with potassium, this stimulates your brain and is also good to keep your blood pressure under control.
  • Lemon Water is a real beauty drink, it purifies your blood which results in a beautiful clear skin. Your wrinkles soften and blemishes are less visible.
  • Lemons detoxify your body, so that all waste is flushed. Citric acid provides a good working liver, so your body gets rid of all toxins.
  • Lemons can help with weight loss, they are full of pectin fiber, which do reduce your hunger.
  • Lemons are packed with calcium and magnesium. Calcium is good for strong teeth and bones and magnesium is good for your heart and blood vessels and relaxing function of muscles, nerves and blood vessels.
  • Lemons ensure proper digestion. The acid in the fruit ensures that your intestines are clean. This avoids congestion and abdominal bloating.
  • Lemon juice has an alkalizing effect. Alkalizing means de-acidifying. Lemons are acidic, but once they have completed the road in our body they have a de-acidifying (alkalizing) function. Our body becomes acidic due to, for example, white sugar, coffee and alcohol.
  • Inflamed gums? Lemon juice has a positive effect on your gums. It also prevents bad breath.
  • Lemons are full of antioxidants. Antioxidants eliminate free radicals. Free radicals destroy DNA , as a result, different types of cancer are more likely.

Hint; to save your tooth enamel it’s wise to drink lemon juice with a straw.

How do you start your day? Would you try lemon water for a healthy start of the day? Let me know! XO.
