The Bamboovement
In addition to bamboo toothbrushes, The Bamboovement also offers other plastic-free products, such as toothpaste tablets, shampoo bars, reusable coffee cups, cotton swabs and much more. Made for the same purpose; inspire people to use less plastic every day.
Why Bamboo?
Bamboo is a fast-growing crop that has little impact on the environment, which is why bamboo is a sustainable material. Brush naturally and contribute to nature conservation.
- The bamboo used for the toothbrushes is made from MOSO bamboo. This species grows up to one meter per day.
- Bamboo can store up to 12 tons of CO2 per hectare. In addition, it also produces 35% more oxygen than any other type of hardwood in the world.
- Due to its antibacterial properties, bamboo does not need pesticides. In addition, the panda does not eat MOSO bamboo because it grows too high.
The bristles of the toothbrush are made of Nylon 610. This type of nylon is made from castor oil, which comes from the castor plant (also called wonder tree because of its rapid growth). So no petroleum is used for it. The most sustainable alternative at the moment, but unfortunately not yet completely biodegradable. What do you do with the hairs when the toothbrush is used up? Remove them with pliers or break off the head of the toothbrush and throw it in the residual waste.
