Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I wanted to write about this mask for a while now. Meanwhile, most of you will know the mask or maybe you have it in your beauty stash. The mask is a hype, especially on Instagram. The question is of course, is it a hype with good marketing or is the mask really that good?

Co-founder Marianna Hewitt is someone I like to follow on Instagram, so I just had to try the mask.

About Summer Fridays.

Full disclosure: we can’t begin to count how many beauty products we’ve tried. Thanks to our blogs—Life With Me and You & Lu—we’ve been sent pretty much everything out there.
Even with cabinets, bins and boxes full of every type of treatment, we were still searching for something with good-for-you ingredients that gave our skin an immediate selfie-worthy glow.
So, with a team of industry experts, we dreamed up our first product—a simple mask that would leave skin looking gorgeous whether you’re hopping off a plane or just running out the door.
With more formulas in the works, we’re excited to give our communities a chance to take a little SUMMER FRIDAY time for themselves. This is about feeling confident in clear, beautiful skin so you can focus on the fun stuff.

Marianne spends a lot of time on the plane from an early age. In a plane it’s always very important to hydrate your skin well. The air humidity in an airplane can be compared to the air in a desert. Using lots of moisturizer and drinking a lot of water, especially during a long flight, is therefore important to keep your skin beautiful.

Now, of course, you don’t have to be a jetsetter with a lot of flying hours a year to use this Jet Lag Mask. The mask is extremely versatile and a great hydration booster for weekly use in your own spa (bathroom).

This hydrating mask is made of green, vegan ingredients and transforms the skin, thanks to a nourishing combination of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and soft exfoliating extracts. Fine lines are reduced, the skin is mildly polished (thanks to Chestnut extract), Vitamin C gives a strong protection against oxidation, Niacinamide reduces pores and Green tea extract reduces puffiness and inflammation.

Conclusion.

This mask will certainly join me on the plane next month. I think I’ll apply a thin layer at home as a regular moisturizer / primer. I’ll put it under my eyes again in the plane. As an eye mask / cream it’s a top product. It reduces fine lines and make you look rested.

I use this mask in 3 ways.

  1. As eye cream in the morning, works great under your concealer. A thin layer is sufficient.
As an overnight mask before I go to sleep. I apply a little more product than I would normally do with a night cream. The next morning I cleanse my face with micellar water and a tonic
  2. As a face mask and eye mask. I apply a thicker layer and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then I remove the excess product with a warm soft (towel) cloth.

The mask gives you a nice glow and redness disappears from your face. My skin is very calm, fine lines are softened and my skin gets a nice smooth glow. I also think it’s an ideal product to apply it on a pimple, redness is then reduced faster so that the pimple is less noticeable.

Summer Fridays has now developed another product, Overtime Mask, an exfoliating mask that you use as a first step before applying the Jet Lag Mask. I’m curious about that one!

Summer Fridays is available at Cultbeauty.co.uk (worldwide shipping).
