Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation

A foundation that not only beautifully covers your imperfections but also improves the condition of your skin, sounds almost too good to be true, but nevertheless Maybelline succeeded in it with the SuperStay Better Skin Foundation. Beside this foundation there’s also, from the same line of Maybelline SuperStay, the 24H concealer, I‘m excited about both and I‘m reviewing them for you.

Mabelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation.

I always find it nice when a foundation has SPF, I don’t like to apply a sunscreen first before I apply make-up and a foundation with SPF is therefore ideal. The Maybelline Better Skin has SPF20 and I personally find that more than enough.

The SuperStay Better Skin foundation comes in a glass vial with a volume of 30ml and has a hygienic pump by which you can dose the foundation properly.

I have the color 030 sand.

This is a warm nude shade with a yellow undertone that very well matches with my slightly tanted skin this summer. This foundation is in Europe available in 6 different shades.

The ingredients.

The formula is dermatologically tested and also suitable for sensitive skin, contains no oil or perfume and is non-comedogenic (a texture that doesn’t clog your skin, especially important for combination and oily skin that get breakouts quickly). There are natural color pigments in it that give a natural and even coverage, Vitamin C and Vitamin B5 Pro for a radiant and hydrated skin.

How does this foundation improve the condition of your skin?

Besides the important SPF20 which prevents sun damage as much as possible, the main ingredient in the foundation is the antioxidant Acetyl–C, this is a sustainable form of Vitamin C. This vitamin is important for pigment spots and other blemishes such as little scars and impurities, Vitamin C also boosts a tired looking skin. According to Maybelline you should be able to see an improvement in your skin with three weeks.

Maybelline SuperStay 24h Concealer.

Also the concealer has a glass container and this one has a volume of 7,5ml.

The concealer has a nice applicator, provides a natural cover and maintain long lasting. The formula of the concealer is perfect resistant to sweat and sebum and is therefore SuperStay up to 24 hours. For best results, bring some concealer under your eyes or other imperfections and tap it gently with your finger in your skin.

This concealer is in the Netherlands only available in two colors, 02 Light and 03 Medium. As you can see I’ve the color 02 Light, it’s lighter than the foundation and works nicely under my eyes. The texture is a bit thicker but blend very easily.

TIP: you can best camouflage red spots like pimples with a concealer that has a yellow undertone, as 03 Medium, but if you want to camouflage puffiness and dark circles under your eyes than the color 02 Light works very good because of the red undertones.

The concealer is oil and fragrance free and non-comedogenic. The concealer dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.

The foundation gives you a very natural look but with enough coverage so that all imperfections disappear. Through the light formula you have no idea that you have foundation on your face, the foundation doesn’t settle in the fine lines and continues to stay in place throughout the day (SuperStay).The foundation is also beautiful to build up when you want to cover some places extra without getting a mask effect. The foundation is matte and slightly powdery on the skin, that’s why it won’t come of easily, perfect for my combination skin which otherwise will shine way to soon. Other pluses are the natural care ingredients and the SPF20, if my skin has really improved after three weeks I can’t say, my skin is at the moment pretty quiet and smooth, but that can also be due to some new skincare that I’m currently testing. In all honesty I can say that I find this the best foundation which is currently on sale at the drugstore. Normally I use more high-end foundations by the more expensive brands that aren’t available at the drugstore such as Dior and Nars, but this foundation by Maybelline is a keeper and goes perfectly with my favorite primer of the moment.

The concealer remains very natural looking, which of course is very nice because you just want to hide a bump instead of that it attracts attention by a layer of makeup. Well, the promise of being perfect 24-hours is nice of course but not really necessary, last time I didn’t slept a night at all has been a while back. Anyway, the concealer remains pretty for a long time, I use the concealer only under my eyes and there it gives enough coverage and lasts all day without settle in my feared lines.
