The Glam Glow Cleansers were on my wishlist for a while and are now finally available in The Netherlands. I’m a huge fan of the American brand GlamGlow, their masks are really fantastic and that’s why I’m so curious about their new “mud to foam” facial cleansers they released in four variants. GlamGlow is a brand that actually focuses only on masks, but since they had so many requests for a product that you can use every day they come on the market with these cleansers. The cleansers all match with one of their masks and are gentle enough for daily use, I tested two; Youthcleanse and Supercleanse.
The mud to foam cleansers come in a beautiful and eye catching packaging that’s typical for the brand. GlamGlow isn’t a cheap brand, but these cleansers have a content of 150 grams each and last a long time. The cleansers contain a sort of mud-like substance (just like the masks), which transforms into a cleaning foam as soon as it comes into contact with water.
All cleansers have a handy pump, I think this is always nice because it’s hygienic.
GlamGlow Supercleanse.
The cleansers come in a cardboard box so that they are well protected when you buy them with inside the box some information about the product.
The GlamGlow Supercleanse is, just like the Supermud clearing mask especially for the skin which easily picks up impurities and clogged pores. This facial cleanser promises a matte and clear skin without drying out the skin. The foam dissolves oil and makeup, absorbs sebum, clogging pores and washes away dirt and impurities.
The mud-like substance from the Supercleanse is dark gray in color and smells a little like toothpaste.
The main ingredients.
- K17 Mediterranean Clays; detoxifies, refines skin texture and gives balance to the sensitive problem skin.
- Bamboo Charcoal; provides balanced addition to the skin with essential bamboo minerals.
- Licorice root extract; helps to improve the complexion, soothes irritated skin and reduces redness.
- Black cumin seed extract; active antioxidant that provides a clear complexion.
- Glycolic acid and Lactic acid; designed for everyday use to remove dead skin cells for a noticeably clearer skin.
- Teaoxi technology (eucalyptus leaf powder); delivers powerful natural oils and flavonoids.
GlamGlow Youthcleanse.
The cardboard box “Hello Sexy“.
The Youthcleanse has a match with the GlamGlow Youthmud mask and is a daily anti–aging cleanser which exfoliates your skin light at the same time. It removes makeup, impurities and dead cells as well. This cleanser gently exfoliates your skin for a young and radiant complexion.
The mud-like substance from the Youthcleanse is light gray in color and has a pleasant smell.
The main ingredients.
- French sea clay; stimulates cell renewal and revitalizes the skin.
- Microalgae scrub; exfoliates the skin gently.
- Phytic acid; exfoliating acid that natural restores radiance.
- Brazilian superfruit acai, guarana and acerola; powerful antioxidants.
- Flaxseed and Quinoa; rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids for a healthy and stronger skin.
- Teaoxi technology (eucalyptus leaf powder); delivers powerful natural oils and flavonoids.
How to use.
These facial cleansers work just a little different than you’re used to of a facial cleanser because you put it on dry skin instead of a wet skin. Put 2 to 3 pumps at your fingertips and massage it gently on your dry skin, let it sit on your skin for a minute, then add a little water and massage further so that the mud becomes a kind of foam. Then rinse completely with warm water.
Conclusion.
The Supercleanse really gives a wonderfully clean feeling and feels very cool on the skin without the tingles. All the makeup comes off, even eye makeup, although you have to be careful with mud around your eyes, it works fine for me, but otherwise you’d better clean up your eyes with an eye makeup cleaner. The Supercleanse makes my skin actually calmer and gives a smoother complexion, the redness is less and I feel that it soothes my skin. Despite the fact that it leaves my skin sparkling clean it leaves no feeling of tightness behind, so it’s fine for daily use.
The Youthcleanse is also very nice, but I find it less suitable for everyday use because it’s to intense through the exfoliating effect. Also this cleanser leaves your skin sparkling clean (test this cleanser if you can use it around your eyes) and soft. I like to combine these two cleansers and the Youthcleanse I use 2 to 3 times a week.
Totally awesome these cleansers by GlamGlow (didn’t expect anything else) and the other two variants Thirstycleanse (for hydration) and Powercleanse (a mud with oil cleanser) I will certainly try too.
The GlamGlow Cleansers are available at Douglas.nl for € 29,95 (150 gram).
Or at Sephora for $ 39,00.
