Instagram I find a beautiful social media to make contacts outside the Netherlands. A while back I got a message of Kim Sanchez from Cincinnati America, she’s a Indepent Consultant for the brand Rodan + Fields and she sent me a mini facial containing a microdermabrasion product and two anti-aging products for the night. I had never heard of the brand but soon found out that this surely is a renowned brand, it’s one of the top five brands in the field of skin care in the US, developed by two female dermatologists called, guess what, Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields. After these two ladies had developed a highly successful line for acne treatment they decided to continue together with an anti-aging line.
Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields are the most quoted skin care experts in the beauty industry.
Rodan + Fields Skincare.
ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste.
I start with my most favorite Rodan + Fields product the ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, a Microdermabrasion for at home that stimulates cell renewal and improves skin texture. Apply this oil-free exfoliation to dry skin and massage gently for about 1 minute. For the more sensitive skins it’s advisable to moisten your skin first for a more gentle peeling. Use 1-3 per week for a refined skin and a more even complexion.
The key ingredients are; sugar and salt (exfoliates), vitamin C and E (antioxidants), caprylic/capric triglyceride, dimethicone en butylene glycol (moisturizers).
Redefine Night Care.
I take care of my skin preferably optimal for the night, because honestly I skip the day care sometimes (except eye care). Kim sent me two products of the anti-aging line Redefine for the night and they both come in capsules so that no key ingredients will be lost.
First the Redefine Night Renewing Serum, this serum is packed in blue capsules. I always use too much product with a cream and thought upon seeing these capsules that it wouldn’t be enough for my face and neck but it’s so incredibly concentrated that it’s exactly enough.
This serum contains powerful peptides* and retinol** which visibly improves skin texture and rejuvenates skin while you sleep.
*Peptides, collagen boosters for a firmer skin.
**Retinol, extremely effective vitamin A, which helps prevent wrinkles and reduces skin discolorations.
Second a lip serum from the same line, Redefine Lip Renewing Serum. This is a lip care especially for the night which is packed in little gray capsules. This serum also contains peptides for younger looking and full lips and vitamin E in order to keep the natural moisture in balance.
Conclusion.
What a great products and what a loss that I’ve never heard of Rodan + Fields before. I’m a big fan of Paula’s Choice and find that this brand can be compared. The Microdermabrasion is great and gives your skin a boost, my combination skin has a lot of benefit from a regular exfoliation. They give it a good thought about the ingredients in each product, often many good ingredients in a cream are going to waste because it’s in a jar where there’s continuous exposure to oxygen and light. At Rodan + Fields the valuable ingredients are all packed in dark capsules, each capsule for one time use so that nothing is going to waste. The night serum feels nice on the skin, a bit like a primer and absorbs very quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy film behind. The lip serum is greasy but I like that on my lips and the next morning you can still feel it a bit.
I will have to use the products a little longer before I can say whether my skin texture will actually improve. For now I find it very pleasant and my skin looks good in the morning. I also find it comforting to know that there are 2 professionals behind the products who exactly knows what will benefit your skin.
