Since I’ve met Linda from the 100% natural and junk-free brand Loveli and being able to try her beautiful products, I use her deodorants daily. Pure deodorants without aluminum that do what they have to do. Linda has added a new deodorant, the Power of Zen, to this 100% natural Loveli collection.

The deodorants from Loveli are so far the only deodorants without aluminum that work well for me. The tip is to use very little product. Due to the high concentration of sodium bicarbonate, you need very little to stay fresh all day. A deodorant without aluminum doesn’t close your sweat glands and doesn’t dry out your skin. So you still sweat, but you no longer smell of sweat.

Stress, emotion or hormone sweat is different from sweat caused by heat. It contains more fatty acids and smells stronger than normal sweat. Bacteria on the skin love these fatty acids and it is these bacteria that cause the extra strong smell of stress sweat. The Loveli Power of Zen deo provides extra protection against the odor of stress, emotion and hormone sweat because it contains zinc oxide as an additional ingredient. Zinc oxide has a dual effect against sweat: it converts fatty acids into odorless zinc salts before the bacteria can do their job and is at the same time antibacterial. So there are fewer bacteria on your skin anyway that can cause the smell of sweat. Just like the other Loveli deos, this deo contains no aluminum and is 100% natural.

Apocrine sweat glands respond to stress and emotions

Eccrine sweat glands make sweat to keep your body temperature constant during heat and during exercise. What is less well known is that from the time of puberty, apocrine sweat glands also start working and that sweat glands respond to emotions and hormones. That sweat is fatter than ordinary sweat and smells much stronger. No wonder teenagers can suddenly smell like that. Apocrine sweat glands are therefore the cause of our own odor when we suddenly get stressed or our hormones beat us. These sweat glands are activated in case of surprise, anxiety and anger, in case of stress and hormones. The stronger the emotion, the stronger the physical response.
