L’Oréal Miss Baby Roll Mascara

Quite honestly, I didn’t really need a new mascara, but I’ve a weakness for this kind of packaging. The new L’Oréal Miss Baby Roll Mascara has such lovely baby colors, I couldn’t resist.

The Miss Baby Roll mascara is available in 5 variants; Black, Black Waterproof, Teal (Turquoise), Indigo (Bauw) and Lilac (Purple). I’m a sucker for a happy design, but I don’t need it on my eyelashes, so I only tested the Black and Black Waterproof.

The mascara promises long and curly eyelashes that remain curled all day long. Thanks to its unique brush, which has a spiral shape, you can lift your eyelashes from the root to the end.

Black.

I apply 3 layers with the black mascara and this gives a lot of volume and lifts my eyelashes up nicely. With this mascara the lashes remain a little flexible, allowing you to easily apply multiple layers without clumping your eyelashes together.

I never use waterproof mascara because I think they get too hard. In the picture I’ve 2 layers on my eyelashes, a third layer will not work and will not be beautiful. However, the curl stays well all day long.

Conclusion.

Before applying a mascara I always curl my eyelashes with a eyelash curler.

The brush works very well and has a perfect thickness. The brush separates your lashes and gives a lot of volume, it also delivers the right amount of product so that your eyelashes don’t stick together.

The normal Black mascara gives great volume but smudges after a few hours just below my eyebrow unfortunately, I think that’s a bummer. Something you probably will not suffer from when you have a big eyelid, but I don’t have that.

The Black Waterproof Mascara is nice because it absolutely doesn’t smudge. The curl stays better than with the normal Black mascara. This is also because a waterproof mascara dries up harder and your eyelashes are less flexible, making them not easily collapse. I also think it’s drawback that your lashes get so hard, because this makes applying several layers more difficult.

If I should choose between the two, I would go for the normal black mascara. This one gives more full eyelashes because I can apply multiple layers. That it smudges after a while I’ll take for granted. I can take the Black Waterproof with me on vacation so I don’t need to get out the water like a panda beer.

I don’t like it myself, but if you like wearing a different color on your eyelashes than black, it’s nice that a drugstore mascara offers several colors.

Well, I realized that I’ve just used one waterproof mascara so far and… it wasn’t waterproof at all!!!
I prefer the traditional one because it’s easier to manage and build up… I hate when my lashes get stuck together, it’s so bothering! Mhhh I don’t know if I’m going to give Baby Roll a try, but the colourful versions are winking at me 😀
