I’ve been curious for a while about the popular makeup line of tattoo artist Kat Von D and especially her Lock-it Concealer and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, I tested both and I can tell you that badass woman Kat Von D knows how to do it and what woman expect of makeup. Good to know, Kat Von D doesn’t test on animals and uses no animal ingredients in her products.
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer.
The concealer comes in a little box with a print of roses. The concealer itself is a handy tube, also with that cute print of roses, with no less than a volume of 17ml. The concealer is even suitable to use as a foundation, but when you use it only as a concealer under your eyes or to remove other imperfections the volume of 17ml will last for a really long time. Because this concealer is high coverage you only need a little product every time.
This concealer is a lightweight but has a high coverage. Kat Von D even managed to cover up her tattoos for the photo shoot of this concealer with the Lock-it Concealer. Many concealers tend to crease after a while in the fine lines under the eyes, something you definitely don’t want of course. This concealer doesn’t and continues to stay perfect in place throughout the day.
The concealer is available in 9 different shades. I use this concealer only under my eyes and therefore I use the second lightest shade, Light 18, which is suitable for light skins with a beige undertone. The lightest shade Light 16 is suitable when you have a very fair skin with a pink undertone. The concealer has a bit of a matte finish, but not too matte because I really don’t like that under my eyes, then it will just accentuate my fine lines. This concealer is waterproof and stays in place the whole day. Because the concealer has such a beautiful matte finish, I personally find it unnecessary to powder off the concealer.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.
Liquid Lipsticks are hugely popular at the moment, they have the pigmentation of a lipstick and the shine of a lip gloss. The color is long lasting and doesn’t stain. When you have your lips rather matte, you pat your lips 1x with a tissue and you have matte lips with lots of color.
The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick has also that nice print of roses. The liquid lipstick has a volume of 6,6ml, which is a normal volume for a liquid lipstick.
I have the color Lovesick, a beautiful pink color with a cool undertone which is described as “mauve nude”. This liquid lipstick comes in 28 different colors, it’s very soft and easily glides over the lips, the color is perfect with just one swipe and covers your lips totally with an instant matte finish. The only downside is that a liquid lipstick can feel dry on your lips, so does this one by Kat Von D, use before applying a liquid lipstick a nourishing lip balm and the problem is solved.
Conclusion.
The Lock-it concealer Concealer is the best concealer for me so far. Kat Von D says about the concealer “No one has to see what you don’t want them to see”, I totally agree, no one needs to see the puffiness and dark circles under your eyes if you don’t want to. The concealer is also very good to build up when you still need a little more camouflage, it just won’t cake or crease.
The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick gives a lot of color and covers your lips completely after one layer, if you like the color more intense you can apply a 2nd and 3rd layer. The color stays on well for a long time and doesn’t stain when eating and drinking (or kissing;)).
