Last month I was invited with my family to spend a weekend at Roompot in Callantsoog. A small-scale park with a great location, perfect for beach and sea lovers. Directly behind the dunes you will find the colorful and modern lodges that are fully equipped. Just 500 meters from the sandy beach, a walk for the most beautiful sunset is easily made. Roompot Callantsoog
The Roompot park is located just outside the center of Callantsoog. It is a very quiet park, just behind the dunes and near the sea. The detached lodges are luxurious and very attractively furnished. We stayed in a four-person lodge with a large living room and spacious kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. With several seating areas and a kitchen with everything in it, including a Nespresso machine and dishwasher, it is wonderful to stay in the lodge. Both bedrooms, each with a double bed, have an adjoining spacious bathroom. Outside on the veranda you can enjoy peace and quiet on a beautiful lounge set.
In addition to a service point, there is also a restaurant, snack bar, takeaway service and a launderette at the park. If you want to explore the area a bit more, you can rent a bicycle and there are several playgrounds for the children.
Callantsoog
The coastal town of Callantsoog has a small center with cozy terraces, eateries and shops. It is the ideal place if you are a beach lover but do not like the crowds as you have at seaside resorts such as Scheveningen and Bloemendaal. It is pleasant here, with a nice wide beach and several nice beach bars to have a drink and eat well. You can walk straight to the beach from the pleasant village square.
Surroundings
I would like to share some tips of things to do in the Callantsoog area. There are 6 beach bars on the beach of Callantsoog, we had lunch and drank wine in the sun at Strandpaviljoen Woest. The village of Callantsoog falls under the municipality of Schagen. The center of Schagen is about a 15-minute drive, but highly recommended to go. Here you will find many shopping streets and a cozy market square with all kinds of terraces. For example, we ate at SoHo Gastrobar, here you eat delicious smaller dishes that you share with each other. You can enjoy a luxurious breakfast at Hotel Marktstad. Do you want to go out by bike? In spring, the bulb fields are beautifully in bloom everywhere, great when you go hiking or cycling through the area. The most popular cycling route is the route to Fort Kijkduin and the Lange Jaap lighthouse. Is it a day less weather? I went to SkagaVenture with the kids, there is plenty to do indoors here. Karting, laser tag, VR games, pool and much more.
Go to the coast with Roompot. A weekend away or a holiday in our own country to Callantsoog is definitely recommended. We enjoyed it so much and the environment pleasantly surprised us. For more information, visit Roompot Callantsoog.
