The most important part of your skin care routine is cleansing your skin because a well cleansed skin absorbs much better your day and night cream and ensures that you don’t get clog pores. It’s important to clean the skin in the morning and in the evening, in the morning to remove all waste materials that your skin get rid of overnight and in the evening to remove all makeup and dirt. Even if you haven’t put on any makeup that day it’s important to clean your skin in the evening, think of exhaust gases (polluted air) bacteria on your hands (and then you put your hands on you face) and what to think about smoky areas.
Electronic Facial Cleansers.
By now you probably know that you can clean your skin these days even more thorough by using an electric facial cleanser, Clarisonic is such a brand that has several electric facial cleansers. I have the Clarisonic Mia 2 which I tested extensively, the Mia 2 is a more compact version of the Clarisonic Plus, in addition to these two facial cleansers there’s also the Clarisonic Aria.
Clarisonic Mia 2.
The Clarisonic Mia 2 is available in several colors, I have the pink variant and this one comes standard with the sensitive brush head. This cleanser has two speeds, a low speed and normal speed, also there’s a 1 Minute Pulsing T-TIMER on it, this ensures that you have cleaned your face in just one minute. The timer stops a moment to point to you that it’s time to move to another face part. The idea is as follows; 20 seconds forehead, 20 seconds for your nose and chin and 10 seconds for each cheek.
The box that the Clarisonic Mia 2 is in when purchasing.
In the box is the Clarisonic Mia 2 in a protective case that you can use for travel so that the Clarisonic doesn’t damaged or goes on in your suitcase. Furthermore there’s a cleansing gel of Clarisonic itself (30ml) and a charger.
The included Clarisonic cleansing gel is suitable for all skin types but I haven’t used it yet, I use the Mia 2 with my own facewash at the moment.
The charger is very useful because it will stick as a magnet on your Clarisonic, this is invented so that the Clarisonic remains 100% waterproof. When the Mia 2 is fully charged you can use it for 24 minutes before it’s empty again and when the Mia 2 is completely empty it takes 18 hours before it’s fully charged again. Before you use the Mia 2 for the first time the advice is to put the Mia 2 as much as 24 hours on the charger.
Brush heads.
There are several brushes for sale having the same size and therefore almost all of them fit on all three of the facial cleansers. In total there are 8 different brush heads and 6 of them fit on the Clarisonic Mia 2.
- normal brush (for normal skin, also suitable for men’s skin),
- sensitive brush head (for all skin types, even sensitive and combination skin),
- delicate brush (for sensitive and delicate skin that is easily irritated and dry),
- deep pore brush (this head has a double action to remove dirt and oil from the pores),
- cashmere brush (for sensitive and mature skin which is dry fast),
- satin precision brush (like the cashmere brush an ultra soft brush that prevents dry skin).
The brush that’s on a Clarisonic facial cleanser has an unique patented sonic micro-massage technology, which sounds complicated but works as follows:
The brush itself doesn’t spin around, but makes 300 oscillations movements per second– that is to say, 300 back-and-forth micro-movements, a movement that is almost invisible to the naked eye.
A movement that you can’t possibly do with your hands alone, research has shown that your face is 6x better cleaned with the Clarisonic Mia 2 than when you cleanse your face with your hands alone.
On the brush head is a cap so that the head stays nice when you store it and it’s also useful when you need to replace the brush for more control. The brushes remain well for three months (assuming you use the Clarisonic every day) and you must replace the brush after three months. It’s recommended that you remove the brush completely 1x a week so that you can clean any residues that’s left under the brush with soap and water.
How to use the Clarisonic Mia 2 the best?
- Remove your eye makeup first because it’s not meant to turn the Mia 2 on your eyelids (I wash my face first with my facewash but without the Mia 2 so all of my eye make-up is removed and then I wash my face with my facewash and the Mia 2).
- Then put some facewash or cleansing gel on the damp brush (it’s important that you always use a little water, so a damp brush and / or damp skin).
- Turn on the Mia 2 with the on / off button (bottom button).
- Set the desired speed (top button).
- Follow the instructions of the T–Timer and move the brush gently with small circular movements on your skin (do not press too hard because that reduces the movement and effect).
- The Mia 2 will automatically stop after one minute.
- Rinse your skin thoroughly to remove your facewash or cleansing gel.
- After use, I put a little facewash on the brush to clean it extra so I’m sure that no bacteria are left behind when I put it away.
- Don’t use a scrub combined with a Clarisonic facial cleanser that is really too intense.
Conclusion.
There is no turning back, I notice so much difference in my skin since I use the Clarisonic Mia 2, my skin has a much better complexion, my pores are greatly reduced and the brush is gentle on my skin without irritation. My skin is much calmer and I think it’s a nice idea that my creams or masks will be absorbed even better into my skin. It’s important of course that you are using the device in combination with the right facewash or cleansing gel that is tuned to the needs of your skin. The Mia 2 can be used 2 times a day but I’m using it 1x per day in the evening in the shower, ideal, one minute you’re ready and your skin is spotless. The Clarisonic Mia 2 isn’t cheap but I think it’s worth every penny, proper cleaning is so important! I use the Mia 2 about a week now and my skin structure has really improved, so yes, the fact that I need to buy a new brush head every 3 months is also worth it.
The Clarisonic Mia 2 is available at Feelunique.com from $ 193,20. Also the brush heads are separately available at Feelunique.com from $ 33,81. Buy now and receive a free gift from Lancome or Urban Decay.
