Are cleansing wipes bad for your skin?

Cleansing wipes. They are so easy to use, but are they also good for your skin? The other day I was helped in a drugstore when I couldn’t find the cleaning wipes. She told me it was better not to use them because they just aren’t good for your skin. I was a little shocked, because every night after my cleanser I always use wipes for the last traces of mascara. Of course I’ve read somewhere that wipes aren’t very good to use, but I’ve never taken it really seriously.

Cleansing Wipes.

They are so easy and ideal for traveling. You get rid of all your makeup without the need for water. But unfortunately, it’s better if you don’t. After she mentioned it to me in the store, I start looking for more information and that will not make you happy.

It turns out that you push the makeup more into your skin than taking it off your skin. Cleansing wipes contain all kinds of ingredients that you don’t rinse off your skin. It’s almost the same effect when you apply soap on your skin and then doesn’t rinse it off anymore. Beauty experts even claim that they can cause wrinkles. As you move the delicate skin around your eyes again and again with the wipes, this can speed up the aging process and even damage the skin.

Cleansing wipes are therefore not a replacement for your normal cleaner. Most wipes contain chemicals that make it easy to remove the makeup, leaving chemical residue on the skin. They also often contain preservatives so you can keep them without bacteria and fungi growing. These preservatives aren’t necessarily safe to leave on your skin.

Especially when you are prone to eczema or rosacea quickly, the use of wipes isn’t recommend because it can only aggravate everything.

Can’t resist?

If you want to use cleaning cloths on a regular basis (when you on the go, or want to wipe away your last residue of mascara), choose wipes that don’t contain alcohol and are especially for sensitive skin. These often contain moisturizing ingredients and are mild to the skin.

When using the wipes below, always end your cleaning routine with a micellar water or toner to remove any residue of the wipe that’s left on your skin.
