A night away in style at De Havixhorst

A while ago I was invited to spend the night at De Havixhorst together with dear friend and fellow blogger Claudia Struijck. Including a great dinner and delicious breakfast. The De Havixhorst estate is located in the green Reestdal where you can walk and cycle beautifully. The four-star chateau hotel De Havixhorst has 13 rooms, each with its own atmosphere and design. Staying in this beautiful hotel is an experience you will not soon forget, I would like to tell you more about a night away in style at De Havixhorst.

We were allowed to spend the night in the bridal suite, which is both classic and modern. A beautiful large room with a sitting area, an enormous bathroom and a large luxury bed of top quality. This stately room with high ceiling and large windows offers a view over the castle square and beautiful driveway.

In the beautiful restaurant, we enjoyed a 3-course dinner including a delicious wine pairing. The chef prepares the dishes using only the best local ingredients, fruit and vegetables from farms and local wildlife. The chef picks the herbs from the estate’s own garden. You can dine in style here, as the restaurant is recognized by the Michelin guide Gault Millau with no less than 14 points, but also by Lekker500, the independent restaurant guide of the Netherlands.

For dessert we were taken to the wine cellar. Here, under ideal conditions, the great wines of the wine list mature. The long and narrow wine cellar is also called the treasury and is a must-see when you visit De Havixhorst.

The beautiful Châteauhotel is not only suitable for a (romantic) night away in a historic room with a luxurious bed. It is also a wonderful location for getting married, meeting or walking through ancient landscape. Visit the hotel’s sculpture garden with more than 100 sculptures. Beyond the sculpture garden you will find the idyllic Reestdal, a nature reserve with heathland and hay meadows, where the De Reest stream meanders through the landscape.
