Benefit They’re Real Double The Lip Lipstick

Do you remember the 90s lip? A dark lipliner with a light color lipstick. This trend has been gone for years but comes back slowly. Careful though because the lipliner in the 90s was very dark compared to the lips. The liptrend now is way more subtle with a smooth blend, the Ombré Lip.

The beautiful brand Benefit Cosmetics has picked up this liptrend and comes with the Double The Lip Lipstick. A lipliner and lipstick in one, with just one swipe you have fuller and Ombré Lips. The Double The Lip Lipstick is the latest product from the They’re Real! line.

Benefit They’re Real Double The Lip Lipstick.

Double The Lip comes in a silver shell and is similar in appearance to the They’re Real! Mascara. At the bottom of the shell you can run up the lipstick. So the lipstick has 2 colors, in the point is the lipliner and the lipstick color is underneath.

The shape of the lipstick is a teardrop which makes the application easy. You hold the point of the teardrop against the lip line of the upper lip, for your lower lip turn around the lipstick. For a better overflow of colors you press your lips together and you’re ready to go. The lipstick has a semi-matte finish.

In total there are 8 colors lipsticks available and I’ve the color Lusty Rose (see photo), a romantic soft pink color. If you normally outline your lip to create a fuller lip I’d go for the lighter colors. The 2 nude colors in the collection are Nude Scandal and Lusty Rose.

Conclusion.

What a brilliant product! With one move you have a lipline around your lips and colored lips. The texture is very creamy, so it keeps your lips feeling moisturised. The color certainly remains a good number of hours (4 to 5 hours). I don’t find the finish really semi-matte but more satiny with a hint of shimmer.

I find this a very useful product and the result is very subtle. The 2 colors work fine together, so fortunately no 90s deja vu! The end result; full lips with an ombré effect.
