As most of you know, Florida is my happy place. Here I feel at home and happy. Unfortunately, because of Corona, we have not been able to visit my favorite place on earth for a while. In the spring of 2021 I decided to bring the Sunshine State to the Netherlands with my own clothing line. In the months that followed I started designing, producing samples and developing what would soon become Sunshine of Style. The Happy Vibes Florida has to offer can be found in the clothing, street style inspired, comfortable to wear and for all women who stand their ground. Sunshine of Style, sustainable clothing with all American happy vibes! The brand stands for sustainability and being kind to the environment and people. This means that we meet all requirements in terms of quality, processing and working conditions, with clothing that’s GOTS, OCS Blended, OCS 100 and Oeko Tex certified. All products are made from organic and recycled textiles.
A short Q&A by Mariska from Marvelousz with this all American girl who you can draw in a sweater with jeans, married and mother of two children.
Can you tell us something about your company?
Because of Corona we haven’t traveled to our beloved Florida in a while. So with my sweaters, hoodies and caps I just bring the happy vibes, palmtrees and the Sunshine State here. It was important to me that the clothing had to be produced sustainably. So no child labor is involved and everything is manufactured with respect for the environment and nature under normal working conditions. Everything while maintaining good quality.
Where do you see Sunshine of Style in five years?
An extensive line including T-shirts, joggers, leggings, etc. Just nice comfy clothing that makes you feel good.
Which country inspires you?
That is not so difficult, the USA of course. Florida, California, New York and Las Vegas. Good vibes only and my happy places.
What is your favorite quote?
People will stare. Make it worth their while.
What’s your ultimate tip for entrepreneurial women?
Good planning, I’m still working hard on that myself. Work systematically, don’t reach too high, just start. Don’t hesitate and take small steps. “Better an oops than a what if.”
Your best beauty tip?
Always use an SPF that is the best anti-aging.
Who is Frieda in short?
Proud of my family, they are the most important. Besides that I can’t live without my friends, coffee and wine. Since childhood I have been a beauty addict and a car freak. I am also a real Burgundian and I can enjoy an evening out for dinner.
