Heineken Silver, the extra refreshing new addition to the Heineken® family

“Heineken has been the most drunk beer in the Netherlands for decades, and we are very proud of that. At the same time, we continue to discover and innovate. We are still learning every day and closely following the changing taste preferences of the different generations. At the moment, a large group of consumers, including people in their twenties, are looking for an extra refreshing and accessible beer. We saw room for this within our portfolio. That is why we are expanding with Heineken Silver, for those moments when you are looking for extra refreshment. Whether at home, on the terrace or at a festival,” says Els Dijkhuizen, marketing director Heineken.

Willem van Waesberghe, master brewer at Heineken: “Heineken Silver is made with the same pure, natural ingredients as in our original recipe, including Heineken’s famous A yeast. What sets Heineken Silver apart is that it is aged at an ice-cold temperature during brewing. The result is a crystal clear, refreshing and easy to drink beer. Heineken Silver has a low bitterness and an alcohol content of 4%. Like Heineken Original and Heineken 0.0, it is brewed for the Dutch market with 100% green energy and is sold in recyclable packaging.”

New turquoise look
Dijkhuizen: “It is great to see that our brewers have managed to find the right balance between characteristic and familiar Heineken taste and extra refreshment with the same ingredients and a slightly different brewing process. And with a new beer comes a new look. In addition to the most characteristic green color of Heineken Original and the recognizable blue of Heineken 0.0, you will now see the fresh turquoise appearance of Heineken Silver in the supermarket and catering industry. The accompanying glass is distinctive and has a completely new shape and design. The campaign that will start soon is also strikingly different from what we have done before. You will definitely see that again in the coming weeks.”
