Water-based makeup is the trend right now. According to Loni Baur, the famous makeup artist and head makeup at CATRICE, this trend is based on the growing need for comfort and functionality. Water-based textures, for example, highlighters are much more intense, products last longer, colors are stronger, and your skin stays fresh and comfortable.
We’ve seen water textures already a lot in skin care, but now more and more in cosmetics. The advantage of a water base is that it’s absorbed quickly by the skin and dries very quickly. It feels ultralight as if you have nothing on your skin. When the water evaporates, it feels cool on the skin and what remains is a velvety skin.
The CATRICE team that’s engaged in product development and innovation, discovered the water texture trend in Korea. Korea is a country that’s far ahead when it comes to skin care and cosmetics. Many innovative ideas come from Korea, Koreans have their own term for products that contain a lot of moisture and make sure the skin feels firm: chok chok.
