Nature violence seems to occur more often, think of the devastating Hurricane Irma, who has done a lot of damage in the Caribbean and my beloved Florida, Hurricane Ophelia that hits Ireland, fires in California and Portugal, heavy earthquake in Mexico and a volcanic eruption in Bali. By 2015 there was a severe earthquake in Nepal, where 9,000 people died and thousands of others lost their homes and jobs.

Aveda and local Lokta paper makers celebrate the 10 year collaboration to support the communities in Nepal damaged by the earthquake.
Thanks to this collaboration, since 2007, more than 5,500 people have earned an income to make more than two million paper sheets for the Aveda gift sets. This means that 5,885 children are also able to go to school and 2,490 families being able to buy food and clothing, repair their homes, and make new plans for the future. Ever more working mothers have an example function for their daughters and the families see their wishes fulfilled for a happier, healthier life. And since Lokta paper, that Aveda purchases, also has the certified Wildlife Friendly® mark, it will contribute to the protection of around 42,000 hectares of forests; This ensures that communities can maintain, while maintaining the living environment of the red panda and the snow leopard.
