Luckily for me the matte lip trend keeps going on cause I love it a lot. I think it’s so pretty and fortunately more and more matte lipsticks are on the market that don’t dry out your lips. That was such a shame in the beginning, a beautiful matte color with a massive dry feeling. Something I couldn’t get used to. You can solve that problem by first applying a nourishing balm on your lips, but even better is it when the matte lipstick feels immediately comfortable.
Infallible Matte Max.
That a good matte lipstick doesn’t need to be expensive proves L’Oréal Paris with the new Infallible Matte Max lip pens. Actually they’re not really lipsticks but more colored powders that feel silky on your lips by the micro-oils that’s in the mattifying powder.
The color you see on the outside of the pen is pretty much the actual color. This powdery lipstick comes in 6 different colors and I’ve tested 2 of them.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Max Virgin.
This soft pink color 002 is called “Virgin” (in some countries called “Like a Virgin”) and is the color that most appealed to me of all colors.
The powdery pigment is in the cap.
A very natural looking soft color.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Max Oops I Pink It Again.
The color 004 has a cute name “Oops I Pink It Again”. The color is a more brighter color pink.
I also like this color a lot, it really stands out.
What’s striking is that the lipstick is so lightweight that it feels like you have nothing on your lips.
Conclusion.
I like the beautiful soft finish that these lipsticks give. The lipsticks are well pigmented but with a velvety effect. The color is long lasting and doesn’t stain. My lips feel soft all day and I don’t suffer from dry or itchy lips. The applicator is working fine and with these colors you can overline your lips beautifully for fuller lips. The effect is very natural.
With these pens you can work with two different colors to make for example an ombré lip, use the lightest color in the center of your lips in order to create fuller lips.
According to L’Oreal the color remains beautiful up to 8 hours. Let’s say this is about 4 hours but the color fades very natural.
